How to Create Reusable Contact/Recipient Groups for Porterhouse

It's easy to send multiple broadcasts to the same group of contacts in Porterhouse – this is done by creating Contact Groups in your Mac Contacts App, and choosing that group when creating your Porterhouse Broadcast. Here's how:

  1. Open the Contacts App on your Mac undefined

  2. Click the + button near the bottom of the window, then choose New List.

    If it wasn’t already shown, the sidebar appears. The area on the right shows β€œNo Cards” until you add contacts to the group. undefined

  3. Enter a name for the list, then hit Enter.

  4. Click on All Contacts, then select one or more contacts and drag them into the newly created list in the sidebar. Repeat as needed until the list contains all the contacts you wanted.

    Another way to create a group is to select one or more contacts, then in the menu at the top-left of the screen, choose File > New List From Selection.

  5. Return to the Porterhouse app, and from the New or Edit Broadcast view, click πŸ”„ Reload undefined

  6. Your new group should now show up (you might need to scroll down to see it). Click the group's Add All button to use its contacts for your Broadcast.

  7. Going forward, you can click Add All to send to those same contacts for future broadcasts.

  1. Open the Contacts App on your Mac
  2. Click on All Contacts, then select one or more contacts and drag them into the group you want in the sidebar. Repeat as needed until the group contains all the contacts you wanted.
  3. Return to the Porterhouse app, and from the New or Edit Broadcast view, click πŸ”„ Reload

βž– Removing Contacts from an existing Group

  1. Open the Contacts App on your Mac
  2. Click on the group you want to remove from on the sidebar.
  3. Select the contacts you want to remove, and press the Delete key on your keyboard.
  4. When asked, choose Remove from Group.
  5. Return to the Porterhouse app, and from the New or Edit Broadcast view, click πŸ”„ Reload

Renaming an existing Group

  1. Open the Contacts App on your Mac
  2. Click on the group you want to rename on the sidebar.
  3. On the menu all the way at the top left of your screen, click Edit > Rename Group
  4. Enter the new name, and press Enter

Selecting Contacts

  • Select a single contact: Move the mouse pointer over the contact, then click it.
  • Select multiple contacts: Press and hold the Command key, then click the contacts.
  • Select multiple contacts that are next to each other: Click the first contact you want to select, press and hold the Shift key, then click the last contact. (You can also click near the first contact, press and hold the mouse or trackpad, then drag over all the contacts)
